The doll's hair is about six inches shorter in the middle than on the sides, like a toddler with scissors got to it before it was packaged.

Actually, the hairstyle does serve the same purpose as the tie back things for long-eared dogs - to keep her locks out of what she's eating. You have no idea how often I find ketchup and yogurt in her hair.
