Drosophilized...
May. 25th, 2005 02:47 pmWe appear to have an infestation of fruit flies in the office. I was worriedly thinking that one or two had stowed away in my lunch, since we had a few in the kitchen (old banana in the trash). It's the whole building, though; I know I saw a couple around my desk, where there's nothing to attract them. I just heard TN say,"Well, big surprise; we're surrounded by strawberry fields!" I guess that might explain the source of the little red-eyed critters.

They almost killed a potted amaryllis I had here at home.

Normally, spiders don't bother me as long as I have some warning they're around. I just don't like to be startled (by a web or crawly feeling) any more than the next person. It's my husband who really hates them and will kill them on sight. I once saw a spider on the bedspread and tried to catch it and put it outside before he woke up. I was just about to grab it with a tissue when he woke, yelled, and spide and quilt both went flying across the room. So much getting that one out of house - I never saw it again.
