Can I Call in Rich Today?
Feb. 19th, 2002 05:53 pmI guess we didn't win the Lotto pool; C.is still at work today. Every time the Lotto gets above $35 million or so, she starts going around the office with a pool. It figures she's the one to do this; she was telling me in the break room a lot of people in her family have gambling problems. I've given her $4 over the past two weeks.
Gareth's favorite phrase lately has been "What's that noise?" (Actually it's "what dat noise?") I can't figure out if he really has sensitive hearing or it's something that gets a reaction out of us. Often he says it when the dishwasher and the TV are on, people are talking and Avalon is starting to fuss. I guess it's better than "I need up!" all the time. He and his brother Angus both tell me "Stop singing!" when I'm humming to the radio. I always thought I had a decent singing voice.
This is becoming addictive. Since the death of Chick-Click, I‘ve been spending more time writing here than anywhere else. Sort of an ego trip, I suppose - it's one long thread all to myself. I am Woman, Hear me Drone.
I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to upload pictures to Photoworks.com to put together a photo album. I finally managed to upload about 10 photos, but only about 4 of them will show at a time. Why bother if no one can look at them?
I took some of John's boxes to work and asked a few people what they might pay for them at a craft fair. I got from a couple bucks to up to $20 for the bigger ones. He's going to take some to his friend A's garage sale to see if people like them. If results are favorable, he'll look into getting a table at the farmer's market. I think he's going to have to make them a lot faster if he want to make any money, but as long as he's got a hobby and I don't become a box widow. I need to come up with some designs to put on them - possibly with woodburning or something. Dragons or Celtic motifs, maybe. Maybe I'll try putting some of them on E-Bay.
I like that I can come back and edit this anytime. Anywhere else, all of the typos I just noticed would have been written indelibly on a server in the mists of cyberspace, reminding me how dyslexic my fingers are every time I came back.
