Sep. 16th, 2002 05:23 amJust just checking stuff before heading off to work - I have dock duty this morning. V. and I started helping out doing this at the beginning of the summer because we were short-staffed,but now that we have everyone back, S. (our lead person) decided the biologists were going to keep doing full weeks of dock duty. V. is a bit steamed about it- she spent 3 years as a sci-aid and was glad to finally be hired as a biolgist so she didn't have to do it all the time. I don't mind doing once in a while just so I still know who everyone is down there and they still know me - and it's also good getting out of the office. But if S. thinks that having permanent staff doing sci-aid work is a good use of our time, so be it. I am more than happy to be doing sci-aid stuff and being paid as a biologist, but I don't want to hear him bitching about why we need extensions on all of our deadlines because we are spending the entire morning out in the field.
