Dec. 16th, 2005 02:32 pmThe power went out for about fifteen minutes, resulting in much exclamation and running up and down the hall with flashlights. I had a guy ask to borrow mine so he could use the men's room. Now the lights are on in the office area, but the hallways and especially the stairwells are still pitch black. Ah, there they go. And now all the air vents start blowing and sounding like a blizzard.
We get so little excitement. ;p
Sent off a summary of three decades worth of northern anchovy landings to my boss, who'd been asked about them by a Japanese researcher at the recent CalCOFI conference. He called me back to say thanks, and ask how my interview went on Wednesday. I guess it went ok - I didn't completely choke on any of the questions, but of course, I thought of stuff I could have said in addition about three hours after I got out, which is about how everyone feels too. I can't really go into what the questions were, as the testing is still going on, but we'll all find out how we did in 4-6 weeks (thanks very much to everyone who wished me luck!).
Now I have to fix the datalogger; it's near the end of the year and getting too full, so it wants to hiccup when it's being downloaded and give us error messages. I need to delete part of the files so there's more room. Then I have to go reread the ages on the last set of otoliths I read last night; I looked at three or four in a row of all age 0 fish, so now I'm out of kilter looking at older ones - it's like I have to recalibrate myself. Heh.
