Garteth just walked up with a hand saw that has no blade (John gave it to him to play with). He reached up, patted me on the head, and said "Your brain is awesome." I laughed and thanked him.

Then he put the bladeless tool over my head and said "Can I saw it?"

Sorry, Gareth, I would like to keep my awesome brain intact for the moment. It's hard enough to get it to work when it's in one piece.

(Shades of "The Big Snit.")

Hmmm, cheese is not so bad with shiitake mushrooms and eggs. I was a bit worried. I would have preferred to throw something green in as well, but it seems we have a freezer full of meat, cans of chili and beans, and very little in the way veggies. Mushrooms will have to be the fruit and veggie group tonite.

I need to get John to go to the farmer's market downtown more often - I would love to myself, but I get off work too late. We let Dad do most of the grocery shopping because otherwise he would never leave the house and he enjoys it (part of our rent money is supposed to go toward it). However, he brings home lots of bread and meat type products and no fruit or green stuff. Half the time I make dinner it's carbs and protein.

So it's eggs and rice tonight. John and Angus don't feel like eating much - I think we are starting another cycle of colds, which everyone will get except me, so I get to take care of everyone. Sigh.

Must get the yearbook for my garden club finished and taken to be copied before Saturday morning. I was supposed to have gotten it passed out at the last meeting (fourth Monday of the month), and Angela had even put it in the newletter that I would. However, I completely forgot that I was supposed to go to Sacramento for some training the same day, and just before I left my printer's color cartridge crapped out. I called Carole and aplogized and told her I would have it ready at the membership tea this Saturday.

So if you see me wasting too much time here until then, get after me and ask me if I've got the damn thing done yet. I have very little self-discipline. Also, if anyone is interested in gardening, this is a tea my group has for potential new members. We would be glad to have you!
