I need to find some place that sell Superglue for spouses. Honestly. My mate keeps getting broken.

Sunday, I noticed there was a mourning cloak butterfly in the skylight on the patio. It kept fluttering down to about eye level, and I would try to shoo it towards the side so it could escape, but then it would fly straight up back into the skylight. I made a remark that we needed a new butterfly net to rescue the unfortunate insects, and then I turned my attention to something else.

Suddenly, the corner of my eye catches this body flying past me, which lands on a piece of paper on the floor, which slips, feet fly everywhere, and there is John sitting on his butt, holding his wrist and cursing loudly. Apparently, thinking of my remark, he had seen the butterfly flutter down again and come charging out of the house flapping a towel, made a flying 7-foot leap from the top of patio steps in order to scare the critter under the eaves to freedom. The mourning cloak is now free, but now he thinks he may have sprained or broken his wrist. That was gallant, but not necessary - left to his own devices, he probably would have just squished it.

Then Monday, as he was driving home from watching the Lakers/Pistons game at his friends house, he sneezed so violently, he threw his back out again. So he's been flat on it for the last two days, moaning at every movement.

I told him last time he hurt himself, I was not going to let him leave the house without a layer of bubble wrap. He got mad at me, but honestly, it's been one goddamn thing after another lately. I hate that he doesn't feel well, and I hate that I get so irritated with him when he's whiny and snappish.

And I'm a crappy, crappy nurse.
