So I've completely given up on the idea that this thing is just for myself. This is just for fun, mostly. But I hate offending people - if you don't ever want to see another dead fish or hear about another poopy diaper, or put up with me drooling about Jet Black...just tell me and I'll make a filter if I can.

Plus I'm curious, and I don't do polls very often. How about some of you who've seldom/never posted here?

[Poll #275463]

Edit: Feel free to answer this poll, even if you happen to run across it weeks, months, or years after it was posted. If you do, please make a comment so I know you responded.

hi! i just added you, but this poll is hard to do when i haven't already been reading your journal! (or maybe it's because i've only been awake for an hour...) but there isn't really anything i wouldn't want to hear about, except maybe lengthy, graphic descriptions of meat-eating, but even then, it's your journal, so who am i to say? anyway, hello... i found you in [livejournal.com profile] oc_over_21; i live in yorba linda. :)

Well thank you! I've added you back. And here I was feeling pissy because someone else unfriended me. I hope you like it here - and I rarely discuss carnivorous mastication, although I work with commercial fisheries, so there may be the occasional dead fish. If you like I can filter you out those. You're quite welcome to come back and ask a question when you think of one later.

Hi, I added you as a friend. I was searching for "Ray Troll" as an interest and your journal came up. You look like a really interesting person. I'm also a marine biologist by education, but I'm currently working on endangered desert fishes. Looking forward to learning more about you.

Well, thanks for adding me! I've added you back. You have the neatest icons, and I love the Ray Troll banner on your profile.

Hi. I just friended you after stumbling across your journal - through a Leonard Nimoy community, I think. Also, I was curious about your interest in the Finn brothers/Crowded House (I'm from New Zealand and they're something of a cultural/national icon).

Well thank you, and welcome! I've added you back. Oh yes, I've been a Finnatic at least since, um, 1987, I think.

I remember your icon from the Leonard Nimoy community - it's so cute! Did you draw it? I notice you are quite the artist.

Anyhoo, glad to have you, and I hope I'm not too boring. :)

never a worry here. i love hearing about all that. i love to hear about the lives of the people i know. if you think something might be a touch much for some individuals, just put it under a cut. i have a special list where i screen out some people, but i really don't care who reads it.

it is my super duper naughty sex filter. to tell you the god's honest truth, it rarely gets used. i just don't want people in real life reading about my *cough*cough*non-existent* sex life

Ha, you have one too! Actually, so far I just have a girl's only filter, in case I feel like moaning about my period.

It's funny, I think I've written more about my sex life in other people's journals, in response to questions and such.

we are quite the bunch...

it is tough being married with children on the sex life. i think it is equally so with being a single parent.

at least you have 'in house' HA!

Hi there! I'm a fellow TITMer, and discovered your journal via a recent post you made on the list. Hope you don't mind that I've added you -- I have many Frenz on my f-list, so I'm looking forward to getting to know another one. :)

Eek, where I was apologizing for spamming the list? *hides*

Glad to have you! Um, no Trek or pics, huh? Just to let you know, I usually put most overtly (read "rabid") fannish stuff of any type and more than one picture behind a cut, and pictures are generally sized not to break people's friends pages (>~500 pixels wide) -- is that ok?

I am a guy, but moaning about one's period imho is not really embarrassing for a guy to read about, in one sense it is just another aspect of biology that we humans have to live with (perhaps that was an unintended pun? *groans* sorry ! ;)

At any rate, I am more into arthropods than fish, and I do find marine science quite interesting! :)

Btw, I had to look up the word "skank" after reading your recent post in the urban nature community, so if your son had said that to me I would just have thought he mean "skink" and left it at that, shows what I know! ;) But I find I learn a lot here on LJ, which is one thing that makes it such a wonderful site! :)

Heh, I tend to think of it that way myself, but I've run into a few guys here who seemed to get freaked out by it.

Great, I love arthropods! My first loves when I was a kid were insects. In Girl Scouts, I often got woken up in the middle of the night to get a spider out of somebody's tent.

My two girls had the same experience at Girl Scout camp, they were the only ones not panicked when a wayward insect or spider wandered into the tent, so they were the ones who picked the creature up and let it go outside! :)

Btw, if you don't mind, may I LJ Friend you? You are most welcome to Friend me back if you are so inclined. :)

Oh dear, this is pretty old, isn't it. I guess I originally made this for people who'd been on my list for awhile, and I'm a little paranoid of offending people. I should probably update it, but the main thing was if someone didn't want to see me ranting about a certain topic, they didn't have to even scroll past it (ha, provided I even remember I have the filter).

In any case, all the poopy diapers are at least four years past. Glad to have you here and I've friended you back.

Discovered you via [livejournal.com profile] rosehiptea. I sometimes check my LJ friends' friends because it's a great way to meet others around my age (66 in my user name is birth year) with common interests.

Was so damn thrilled by the Gumball reference (cherry on top of the must friend cake) in one of your recent posts. I'm single with no kids, so there's no reason for me to watch Cartoon Network, but I do it anyway. Never grew out of animation.

Check out my profile. Like what you see, friend me and I'll do the same back. If not, that's ok :)
