From our San Diego office...
Oct. 29th, 2003 05:27 pm"The office will be open today, although I suspect at a much reduced level of service. Smoke in the air is very strong today (so much so that every school district in the county is closed due to the health threat), and our front entrance has about 1/4 inch of soot and ash.
The office is fine, untouched by the fires, but just a few blocks away, everything burned (brush). Please bear with us as we transition back into operation. I don't think we'll have many customers, but we'll probably get lots of phone calls--we have 25 messages to clear on voicemail.
As for Cleveland National Forest, I suspect we'll be seeing some closures soon, as the fire is in the middle of it."
The Cleveland National Forest extends to Orange County, where I live, although there's probably a good twenty miles between my city and the forest border. However, I know people how live in Tustin, Irvine and south; they probably might be concerned.
