A frost warning.
In southern California.
It's been known to happen before; it even snowed slightly in Malibu in 1988 - but not very often. People with tropical plants are going to be upset in the morning if they didn't cover them up.
It's 55°F right now, but the wind makes it feel a lot colder. And now that the kids are having to wear jackets again, I can see they all need new ones; Angus's sleeves end 3 inches above his wrists!
