Billyuns and billyuns of stars.....

Science Channel is rerunning Cosmos. *Sigh* I loved this series when it first aired on PBS. Ah, I had such a crush on Carl Sagan at the time. I loved his voice. I'm still a sucker for voices. I joined the Planetary Society because of him.

I have the soundtrack on LP - I can't believe this series is 25 years old! Coincidentally, I've just been rereading Contact too.

crap!

Seemed to have all the original music. I just had to go put the CD on my wishlist. :) (although there's a 2-CD set that only seems to be for sale at CarlSagan.com).

How strange you mention this - I was just thinking about this series this past weekend! I am reading the latest Analog and the science article made me remember this series. It was so good!

Yeah, voices do it for me, too. I love Yuki Eiri/Kakashi's seiyuu. I could listen to the man read a phone book, in Japanese.

We were glued to the tv every time it was on. My brother had a parka like his, only it was blue - we called it his Carl Sagan jacket.

Ooh - Contact is one of my favorite books.

Maybe they'll re-run the Cousteau specials too and I can get Sadie turned onto the ocean like I was. Sigh...

Aren't those on DVD yet? For shame, they should be.

Or she could see this and want to be an astonomer. Choices, choices...fwiw, my kids seemed really interested in this. Or else they just wanted to stay up past bedtime - they'll use any excuse for that. :D

Heh... I always loved the way that carl sagan said billions. Came out something like, Beeeeeeeliuuuuuns.

First time I read contact was when I was out camping in the middle of nowhere. I ended up staying up until about 2am finishing it. I then walked outside and laid on a picnic table and stared at the beeelions of stars in the sky... now that was an experience. Perhaps I should give it a read again too, great book.

I remember him showing up in the Bloom County comic strip, saying that. :D

He's missed.
