Cooper's hawk...

Yesterday, because I was behind on something, I ate lunch at my desk.
DP came up the aisle as she was coming back from her break, saying "Leeanne, right outside your window - a hawk just flew up!" And sure enough, a juvenile Cooper's hawk (I think, if I've misidentified, please correct me) had just landed on a sycamore branch with his own lunch, a small songbird. He sat there and ate the entire thing in about 10 minutes. I'd forgotten my own camera,so I borrowed our project's, which also nicely shoots video, so there's some of that too.


This video is after he was done eating, so he's cleaning off his beak a bit; if you want to see him actually eating (plus a bunch of other photos), here's the set...
