senoritafish: (dreams on a 'chovie can)
I just received this from the Nikki Hospice Foundation for Pets, and thought you might like to know as well. Since I had four anonymous donors, and I'm only sure of one of them, I thought I'd pass this along to everyone I contacted previously (or might have read something about it here), since their website was a little unclear as to whether they were a federally recognized charity or not.

------------------------------------
Dear Leeanne:

On behalf of the board of directors of The Nikki Hospice Foundation for Pets, we would like to formally thank you for choosing us as your charity during Project Blog. So far, two people have sent us donations, and we are grateful for the funds!

I have visited your website, as well as the Project Blog Homepage and obviously, you are all doing a great job of helping your favorite charities! Keep up the good work, and thank you again for your support, your caring, and your wonderful enthusiasm!

By the way, our new website should be launched within two to three months, and we are now most definitely (and have been since 1998) a federally-recognized 501(C)(3), in case you would like to share this information with your sponsors.

Very sincerely yours,

If all sponsors contribute what they pledged, we'll have raised $160 for them. Maybe not so much, but certainly more than what I could have contributed by myself. So once again, thank you so much for your support and helping to keep me awake all of July 24th. I think I've finally recovered. :)

On July 24, 2004, I participated for the first time in Project Blog, a 24 hour event to raise money for charity. All participants made entries every 1/2 hour for twenty-four hours. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me to help fund the Nikki Hospice Foundation for Pets. If you'd like a peek at the madness:

5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
12:00 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Thank you everyone, for putting up with my flooding of your friends page for the last 24-hours, and to everyone who sponsored me, whether it was because you knew Bob or heard me talk about him. Thanks to John for having me up with the light on during times when he'd rather it be completely dark, and the rest of my family for allowing the postponing of park time, and participating in very long walk (for them) that provided some of the fodder for the last 24 hours. I wasn't sure I could make it, and I certainly didn't expect so many sponsors. If anyone would like to sponsor any other participants in Project Blog, sponsorships are still being accepted there until this evening.

The preceding 24 hours has been dedicated to my dear friend Bob. It's 5 a.m, and my pillow is calling. Rather loudly.

Next to last post. John just got up and argued that this should be the last post, I should have to do one at 5. Oh well, it won't be complete for me if I don't - if I skip to bed at 4:31 I'll be cheating. I guess I proved I'm not too old to be crazy and stay up for 24 hours. And I don't even need that much caffeine to do it. :D Must have been having kids that got me used to sleep deprivation.

I have on reliable authority that this is a quite funny and fairly non-partisan skewering of everyone, to the tune of This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land.

It's taking forever to load here. though.

Urk, late again! I must have dozed off with my eyes open. I had this one done twenty minutes ago, honest.

A squid I drew while out on a research cruise. Yes, I know squid don't have eyelashes, but this one just cried out for them. See, she's flirting with you, as cephalopods do.

Flirt back... )

Avalon just woke up and came in to climb in my lap, so I put her my side of the bed, since it's not occupied at present. After 5, I'll put her back in her own bed.

I put a rental DVD of Mystery Men on, but I'm going to have to watch it again later; I'm not paying much attention to it.

I hope [livejournal.com profile] bakayaro_onna doesn't mind me posting this. I made it for her when she finally let us see one of her stories. I don't think I ever posted it here. Anyhow we had an exchange once about dozing off at work while in front of the computer, and this is what my twisted brain came up with. Honestly, it shouldn't be let out of the house without being supervised.

If our alter egos should run into each other... )

Deep breath. More coffee. Only five more posts. Where are those toothpicks?

Posted quite a while ago but I'm just trying to dredge stuff of my drive...

Promise next one will be on time...

Forgive me, I'm 15 minutes late because my computer is old and cranky, and after this much continuous use, demands to be restarted. Things just get slower and slower, and one by one things stop working. I've been lucky so far during these 24-hours that it restarts on the first try. The pumpkin vine I wanted to post is still on my camera, and it would not download.

So you get this instead.

A gladiola bud... )

Did I mention we have a pumpkin vine? This was given to me by someone in my garden club. I think it's supposed to be the giant monster variety. The first pic is just a couple of weeks ago.

Starting a pumpkin... )

I'll have to show you what it looks like now in the next post.

Oh honestly, hasn't anyone posted a quiz tonight? I'm feeling lazy for this post...

*Trolls thru friendsfriends* Ah, here's one....and it's actually pretty...

I am flower named senoritafish !
I consist of my friends!
Are you flower too?

Friend's color schemes, I think? The text on the page it comes from is in Russian.

Out of order, oops! Angus and Gareth realizing they're too short to see anything through the telescope. And I didn't have any quarters to turn it on anyway.

and goodnight to the pier... )
After this we headed home. I was so proud of the boys walking all that way. We need to do that more often.
senoritafish: (so tired...)
I'm getting punchy. Seven more hours. Thirteen more posts after this one. Hoo boy...

This is from the end of the pier. All the tents you can see on the beach are for the U.S. Open of Longboarding that occurred this weekend. If I'm thinking right, next week must be the OP Pro. Anyhoo, this just looked dull and grey, so I turned the color saturation all the way up.

I don't know how, but my daughter seems to be part terrier. Seriously. She just came in and yapped at me.

My kids have been very patient with me all day - if they let me sleep tomorrow we'll go to the park. There's an alumni picnic in the park at the end of my street . I doubt if I'll know anyone there, but it might be interesting. Haven't been to one since Angus was a baby.

Well, I have definitely got more neighborhood than yard here. I will attempt to rectify that later on. Or maybe I should just change the titles.

It was very hazy yesterday, but I like the monochrome way this turned out. The upside-down Us are kite surfers.
